The Obstacle

  • The social VR platform Banter commissioned the YouTube VR Developer Justin P. Barnet to expand his VR Creator Club to have bi-weekly VR meetup in Banter.

  • I worked as the liaison between the groups, building the world and coordinating the Events.

The Process

The Result

  • Banter’s worlds are treated as websites, meaning that Google analytics can be used to collect.

The spikes are when events were held. There is also a wide array of people from all over the world attending the event.

--The different features also had links that sent the user to the associated pages. The links used skeuomorphic design to help people understand what is and isn’t a button.

The average attendance has been 30 people. Even though the event hasn’t been happening for very long, it has received positive feedback.

-A central stage was made as the focal point complete with a screen share for presentations.

-Breakout rooms were created using different colors to help facilitate discussions with large groups.

-Intro space with weekly information

-New users are spawned into a welcome horseshoe with information like Meeting times and places, Surveys, and “About us” that has a link to the community web page.

A VR meeting is held every other week with a guest speaker once a month.
